2,000 Sahar, Iftar dastarkhwans

LAHORE - Government of Punjab will set up 2000 dastarkhwan throughout the province during Ramzan for Sahar and Iftar.
The government has announced Rs five billion Ramzan package for items of daily use through as many as 360 Ramzan bazaars and 334 fair price shops. At the Bazaars and shops fruits, vegetables, cooking oil, ghee, flour, pulses and beverages would be provided at subsidized rates. Poultry items and eggs would be sold out at Rs15 less rate from the market. Ghee and cooking oil would be supplied to people at Rs 10 lesser price than the market.
Punjab Minister for Food Bilal Yasin said while presiding over a meeting of the Price Control Committee on Tuesday that a foolproof security system would be installed at the Ramzan bazaars where movement and activity of visitors would be monitored through CCTV cameras.  He said a mechanism is under stay to place anti-grenade system at the bazaars.
The Minister also directed food officers and the price controllers to ensure quality of food and other items at the Ramazan bazaars and keep close eyes on those who would charge over the fixed rates.
