APML snubs Gilani for ‘diatribe’ against Army

KARACHI - All-Pakistan Muslim League (APML) Central Senior Vice-President Dr Ghulam Mujtaba on Friday refuted Prime Minister Gilani’s claim that the army wanted to establish a “state within the state”, saying the was loyal to the country.
Addressing a public meeting, the APML leader regretted the premier’s remarks against the army, and demanded early election to bring the country out of the present crises.
He demanded establishment of a free election commission for conducting general elections in the country, and underlined the need for consensus by all political parties on that election body.
He said his party wanted deployment of armed forces for fair and transparent polls in the country. Mujtaba announced that former president Pervez Musharraf would return to the country in January 2012. APML Sindh General Secretary Brig (r) Haris Nawaz said that “we are organising the APML structure across the Sindh province and will be done with this process by the end of January 2012”.
Action against encroachments:- Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ebad Friday said all departments concerned should take stern action against encroachers and launch a sustaining drive against them. Addressing a briefing at Governor House on illegal encroachments, he said roadside encroachment and land grabbing could not be tolerated.
He said the grabbed lands should be recovered at all costs and the main characters in this regard should be arrested.
