UHS declares BDS annual results


LAHORE – University of Health Sciences (UHS) has declared the results of third professional BDS annual examination.
As many as 459 candidates from 10 affiliated dental colleges appeared in the exam out of which 304 passed and 153 failed. Result of 02 candidates was put on RL list. The pass percentage remained 66.52.
Moiza Ijaz D/O Ijaz Mehmood of Margalla Institute of Health Sciences Rawalpindi got first position, securing 736 out of 900 marks. Maira Mubashar D/O Mubashar Ahmad Qureshi of Lahore Medical and Dental College and Abeer Aziz D/O Malik Ishfaq Aziz of Margalla Institute of Health Sciences Rawalpindi got second and third positions securing 719and 714 marks respectively. The pass percentage of different dental colleges remains as follows: CMH Lahore Medical College 72.73, de’Montmorency College of Dentistry 71.13, FMH College of Medicine and Dentistry Lahore 72.34, Lahore Medical and Dental College 52.63, Margalla Institute of Health Sciences Rawalpindi 67.31, Multan Medical and Dental College 77.78, Nishtar Institute of Dentistry Multan 66.13, Dental Section, Punjab Medical College, Faisalabad 79.17, Sharif Medical and Dental College Lahore 62, University Medical and Dental College Faisalabad 40.  Supplementary exams will commence on March 13.
Course through video link:  Three day course on ophthalmology relayed through video link at College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan (CPSP) Karachi, Lahore, Multan, Peshawar and other centers concluded on Saturday. CPSP organized the event in collaboration with Fatima Jinnah Medical College. Senior doctors from civil and military shared their experiences with the participants (under training eye specialists) of the course. Prof Latif Chaudhry was the chief guest at the concluding ceremony. Prof Rakhshanda Rehman, Principal FJMC, threw light on the modern research and the facilities being provided to the doctors by CPSP.
The guest of honour Prof Khalid Masood Gondal, Vice President, CPSP, talked about the performance of Regional Center Lahore and apprised about the steps taken for the enhancement of the standard of training.
