Holland beat Pakistan in last pool match of Olympic hockey

Holland qualified for the semi-finals defeating Pakistan 4-2 in the last match of the Pool 'B' in the Olympic hockey tournament here on Tuesday. Three-time champions Pakistan played their best hockey of the competition in the first half which ended with a 1-0 lead over the Dutch through a penalty corner goal by Muhammad Imran in the 27th minute. However, Holland fought back in the second half and equalled the score 1-1 through a goal from Matthijs Brouwer in the 41st minute. Later, Taeke Taekema made two goals in the 46th and 58th minute to get Holland a 3-1 lead over Pakistan. Five minutes later, Pakistan's Adnan Maqsood reduced the Dutch lead by one goal but Jeroen Hertzberger increased the tally one minute before the final whistle to beat Pakistan 4-2.
