Senator Sehar Kamran recuperating, says doctor




ISLAMABAD–Pakistan People’s Party Senator Sehar Kamran, who incidentally took extra dose of sedatives late Thursday night, is on her road to recovery, her doctor told TheNation on Friday.
The doctor who was part of the team that attended the senator when she brought to the hospital said that doctors had washed her stomach which reduced risk to her life. He added that she needed treatment for days to get fully recovered.
He said, however, doctors were waiting for chemical examination report to ascertain the causes of her break down.
Senator Sehar Kamran, reportedly a patient of high blood pressure, was rushed to polyclinic hospital in the wee hours on Thursday after incidentally swallowing sleeping pills in large quantity.
“It seems over dosage of sleeping pills landed her in hospital,” a family member of the senator told TheNation. Chairman Senate Syed Nayyer Hussain Bokhari on Friday enquired about the health of the ill senator and sent a bouquet with prayers of early recovery. SenateSecretary Iftikharullah Babar also visited her at the hospital and wished her recuperation.
A press note issued from the Senate Secretariat states that Senator Sehar Kamran fell seriously ill because of restlessness, hypertension and heart palpitation. Doctors have declared her health stable and out of danger, however she will remain hospitalised until complete recovery.
